Intended for use in the control devices of the main drives of excavators, drilling machines, hoisting and other machines.
Thyristor excavator monoblock converters (PTEM) are designed for use in control devices for main drives of excavators, drilling rigs, lifting and other machines according to the following electric drive systems:
- TV-G-D - thyristor exciter - generator-motor;
- TP-D - thyristor converter-motor.
Converters contain thyristor pulse-phase control system, dual power thyristor modules, built-in synchronization and power transformer, pulse power sources, galvanic isolation of power part on pulse transformers, adaptive intensity setter and set of regulators. Converters are fastened in the switchgear cabinet without tools with the help of lower hitch and one screw and have rigid power buses with quick-coupling. PTEM-2R-22AC4M has analog input regulators and microprocessor SFC. Built-in input regulators are brought out to a special connector, which allows building various electric drive control systems with the help of external bundling elements. PTEM-2R-22С4M has a complete digital structure, it allows operation both by analog and digital joystick. It can be controlled by digital exciter network from the process controller and has a built-in output current sensor - shunt. Controllers bundling is programmed with the adjusting panel.

Converters are produced in basic version by non-reversible bridge rectification scheme, for switching to reversible zero circuit it is necessary to put a jumper on output buses N1-N2. Reversible bridge rectification scheme is built on two inverters. During operation the converters do not require adjustment. The converters are made with modern electronics and have a design of transformer, which provides easy access to any element. The converters are characterized by high reliability and maintainability. Service life is not less than 10 years. Transducers are produced under climatic modification U2 in accordance with State Standards 15150 and 15543 for operation at the altitude not more than 1000 m above sea level in non-explosive environment, which does not contain considerable quantity of aggressive gases and steams in the concentrations corrosive to insulation, not saturated with water vapours and conducting dust. Converters correspond to condition group M18 according to GOST 17516 with respect to mechanical factors influence.
