KER-12 series low-voltage switchgears (LVS) are designed to control main and auxiliary drives of EKG-12K mining excavators by the thyristor converter-motor (TP-D) system. The control of all electric drives and diagnostics of excavator systems is performed by means of a distributed computer network based on fiber-optic technologies. The operator's workplace is equipped with a touch screen monitor, which displays the status of all systems of the excavator. With the help of the touch screen monitor it is also possible to adjust the parameters of the main electric drives. Low-voltage switchgears can be used for the equipment of new machines, as well as for the modernization of excavators. The first NCU KER-12 was delivered to Mikhailovsky GOK (Zheleznogorsk, Kursk region.) in the winter 2010-2011. When upgrading an excavator the delivery set by agreement with the customer includes the instruction on the dismantling and assembling works on the excavator EKG-12 when replacing the G-D system on the TP-D system, as well as the design documentation for an additional counterweight (counter load). The counterweight is necessary to compensate the difference of masses of the dismounted (L-D system and electric machine unit) and the mounted equipment (TP-D system).

• 6.3 kVA transformer (to supply uninterruptible power supply cabinet) - 1 pc.
• 400 kVA power transformer (for power supply of anchor circuit converters) - 2 pcs.
• 16 kVA transformer (for power supply of excitation circuits) - 2 pcs.
• Transformer 25 kVA (for power supply of lighting circuits) - 1 pc.
• High-voltage cubicle KRU-6R-U2 (installed on excavator platform).
• Switching point KRU-6RPP-U1 (YaKNO).
• Counterloading.
