KER-10 series switchgears are designed to control main and auxiliary drives of EKG-10 open-pit excavators using thyristor converter-motor (TP-D) system.
Low-voltage switchgears (LVS) of KER-10 series are designed to control main and auxiliary drives of EKG-10 open-pit excavators by the thyristor converter-motor (TP-D) system.
Low-voltage switchgears can be used to equip new machines, as well as for modernization of excavators. Control of all electric drives and diagnostics of excavator systems is carried out by means of a distributed computer network based on fiber-optic technologies. The operator's workplace is equipped with a touch screen monitor, which displays the status of all systems of the excavator. With the help of the touch screen monitor it is also possible to adjust the parameters of the main electric drives. The TP-D system application makes it possible to ensure sinusoidal current consumption from the network (current distortion coefficient is not less than 0.999) and high average cycle power factor of the system (not less than 0.98). There is no electric machine unit in the set of the excavator's NCU according to TP-D system. It reduces noise and vibration in the excavator body. Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies provide:
- control of the excavator main electric drives motors by TP-D system;
- formation of the required static and dynamic characteristics of the main drives;
- increased reliability of the excavator (no electric machine unit);
- consumption of sinusoidal currents from the network (current distortion coefficient is not less than 0.98);
- high average cycle power factor of the system (not less than 0.92);
- 1.6 times reduction of electric power consumption in relation to the generator-motor system;
- control of the excavator auxiliary electric drives;
- safe shutdown of the excavator in case of abnormal situations (for example, loss of mains voltage);
- diagnostics of the excavator's main systems;
- increase of the excavator's productivity by 1.3 times.
When abnormal operating conditions occur, the control system automatically takes measures to safely prevent the consequences of the incident and simultaneously informs the operator about what is happening with the help of the monitor.
